Will It Blend?

A lot of entrepreneurs and marketers do outrageous things to get noticed but getting noticed is not enough to sell your stuff. You have to find a way of directing the attention you’ve attracted towards the message you want to communicate. Will your message blend with the vehicle you used to get the attention or will it be disjointed and fail to make the point?

So before embarking on some crazy scheme to get noticed (not that there’s anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld would say…) ask yourself
“Will it blend?”

Yeah, it looks like a John Belushi Dan Ackroyd Saturday Night Live skit from the late 70’s but Blendtec’s sales went up (or so it is rumored) because their crazy “Will it blend?” spots reinforced the message that their blenders were strong and durable and therefore worthy of their insane price tags. And it did make me go to their website and check out their blenders.
