Snuggling Up With the Hundred Best Business Books of All Time

I read a lot. And over the past few months, I’ve been receiving tons of business books from publishers for review on this blog. But I’ve never received a hundred in one day–until yesterday. Tonight, I’m snuggling up with the hundred best business books of all time.

The 100 Best Business Books of All Time has already had an effect on me. Just reading about David Allen’s Getting Things Done (which has been on my bookshelf for years, but one of the things I hadn’t yet gotten done was taking it off my bookshelf to read it!) made me start cleaning out my email inbox (567 emails down to 48 so far). Imagine if I actually pull the book off the shelf and read it.

Actually I already own many of the books listed in this book. I’ve even read many of them (especially from the Sales & Marketing section which authors Covert and Todd Sattersten wanted to call “Customers” until their advance readers protested. (Good call!)) I’ve even quoted many of them in my book. But this book is making me pull other books off my shelf like McDonald’s: Behind the Arches this one based on Jack Covert’s recommendation.

The accompanying CD that Jon Meuller sent me (thanks Jon!) was a great appetizer for the book, or should I say menu, ’cause it already helped steer me towards what I want to check out first. Like The Republic of Tea which sounds intriguing, a series of letters and emails which appeals to my snoopy side.

I’d write more, but I’ve got a hundred books to read…
