As Long as the Editors Don’t Go on Strike…

Reality TV? You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
According to USA Today, the Hollywood writer’s strike has given a second chance to “unscripted programming” that everyone passed on in the first go round. Great. Nothing better than previously rejected reality TV.
Although to say that reality TV is “unscripted” is not entirely accurate. It may not be scripted by the writers, but the story lines are certainly “written” by the editors. It’s the editors that create the characters we love to hate by showing us the dirt without the context, anything if it’ll increase the drama before they cut to commercial.
Something to keep in mind in marketing our businesses. It’s not always what we create, but what survives the final edit that gives our persona or brand its shape.
