Brian Williams of NBC’s Nightly News who is according to msnbc.msncom “seen by more U.S. television viewers on a daily basis than any other individual” has slammed Donald Trump in a war of words that could make the Rosie & Donald feud look like a game of tiddly winks.
Williams didn’t love Trump’s tweets (some of which have since been deleted from Twitter but you can see them in this video) characterizing Trump as having “driven well past the last exit to relevance.”
No shrinking violet, Donald is shifting his focus from his displeasure about Obama’s re-election to Williams’ remarks. What does this mean for NBC and for Trump? Publicity. Attention. Viewers, listeners, followers. Not suggesting entrepreneurs should follow Trump’s lead in the extreme but the man does know how to get noticed by polarizing his audience.
And he did have the perfect retort for Brian Williams, tweeting
Brian, if I’m “well past the last exit to relevance” how come you spent so much time reading my tweets last night? @NBCNightlyNews
In other news…Trump also tweeted “Brian–Thanks dummy–I picked up 70,000 twitter followers yesterday alone. Cable News just passed you in the ratings.”
