Facing Our Audience

We always knew this, but now there’s science to prove it.
The face doesn’t lie.
I try to keep my face as unexpressive (poker faced)
as possible during other people’s speeches because often someone
tells them there’s a speaking coach in the audience and after the speech
the speaker will find me (in the 19th row) and ask why I didn’t like her
3rd point. Huh???
Just found out, it’s out of my control. Apparently our faces are
hardwired to respond. I’m still working on my poker face, but in the
meantime, I feel a little less guilty. It’s all about facial coding. Check out what Future Lab has to say and then listen to this.
