Yeah, I hate the B word as much as anyone, so forgive me for the title.
But it brings up a interesting issue. We all know Madonna’s a maverick marketer. But what about the other blondes, the ones who have made careers out of blonde hair and big…brands?
5 Best Branded Blondes
1. Suzanne Somers: Far from the ditz she played on “Three’s Company” a million years ago, this chick, a best selling author, has created a multi million dollar lifestyle empire.
2. Paris Hilton: Rumour has it that this Bratty Girl Socialite is paid upward of $50,000 just to show up at a party. Nothing dumb about that (unless you’re the one paying her!)
3. Dolly Parton: Those who dismiss her as mammaries and a blonde wig are missing the point. Despite her “I just fell off the turnip truck” persona, this one’s as smart as they come, singing herself all the way to the bank. Following in The Dolly’s footsteps is former American Idol contestant Kellie “What’s a minx?” Pickler.
4. Goldie Hawn: The ultimate caricature of a wide eyed ditzy blonde, this Laugh-In alum surprised everyone by winning an Academy Award and becoming a powerful producer in Hollywood. One of her best productions, another blonde named Kate Hudson, is following in her mom’s footsteps.
5. Pamela Anderson: The story is that this fitness instructor dyed her hair blonde and got a little boost in the chestal area after a chance stadium screen shot at a BC Lions game. I say that anyone who is able to parlay a chance 15 seconds of fame at a football game into a 20 year career as Bikini Barbie (Pamela has joined the ranks of Kleenex and Zipper in terms of conjuring up a category) knows something about something. And isn’t that more than many of us know about anything?
