You’re Nobody Till Somebody Hates You!

Did you catch The Celebrity Apprentice finale? Model, Carol Alt, protested getting fired in the last episode to make way for country golden boy, Trace Adkins, to take on the less golden Piers Morgan. Trump gave absolutely no reason for firing the the competant and capable Alt except that he wanted to see “good vs evil” duke it out. The Trumpster knows what makes good TV. And good branding. What Carol Alt doesn’t get is that there are many paths to the spotlight. Being middle of the road ain’t one of them.

When branding yourself or your business, you can’t just sit on the fence. We’ve all heard the cliche, “You can’t please everybody”. Well, I say, “You’re nobody till somebody hates you!”

3. Perez Hilton (Gossip Blogger) No, not Paris, although she’s got detractors too. Perez, aka Mario Lavandeira, was called “The Queen of Mean” by Rolling Stone magazine.
4. Simon Cowell (Reality TV Judge/A and R Executive BMG Records) Calls performances “dreadful” “awful” “You by far are the worst singer in the universe”.
5. Piers Morgan (Reality TV Contestant and Judge/Tabloid Editor) was described as “vicious” by The Trumpster right before he declared him the winner of Celebrity Apprentice.

Each of these 5 individuals has a very strong and well defined personal brand. And they’ve got nowhere to go but up…
