Mr. Whipple passed away yesterday, or at least the actor who played him did. Dick Wilson, a former Toronto boy, called it quits yesterday at the ripe old age of 91. I wonder if his estate will continue to receive the complimentary rolls of Charmin he was receiving every month according to the article in Ad Age.
Proctor and Gamble struck a home run with Whipple and his “Please Don’t Squeeze The Charmin” campaign just as Wendy’s did with “Where’s the Beef?” Anyone know if she’s still kicking around?
Joan Rivers actually trademarked the line “Can We Talk?” Emeril Lagasse who made number 87 on the Forbes’ Celebrity 100 ”kicked it up a notch” with “Bam!”
What’s your line?
