It’s All Geek To Me

Recently, I promised to share with you the one show my kids watch that you really might wanna check out. It’s a “reality” (yeah, I know…) show called Beauty and the Geek. I didn’t miss an episode last season and it just kickedoff again in September. As I told my kids, it’s a show about branding. 10 Beauties. 10 Geeks. The question is who decides which is which?

We all know that there’s more to branding than golden arches. Your brand is your audience’s perception of you. This blog is going to explore what you can do to influence that perception.

For many entrepreneurs and businesses, the audience has no perception of them at all. They have no brand. Even “No Name” has a brand. This is worse. Accountants. Mortgage Brokers. Many are entirely invisible.

Here’s a question. The show’s host, What’s-His-Name? Beauty or Geek?

I wonder if they intentionally picked someone who fits into either or neither category. (Shades of the old androgynous Saturday Night Live character played by Julia Sweeny,”Pat”.)

So what’ya think? Is What’s-his-name? a Beauty or a Geek?
